Job Summary

This Systems Engineer role involves supporting the digital readiness of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) by managing, operating, and optimizing complex and expanding system environments within the Business Applications department. The core focus is providing 2nd Level Support for critical LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) platforms and applications hosted in a proprietary cloud infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed release and deployment plans, executing the installation, testing, and implementation of software and configuration changes, and effectively managing incidents through fault analysis and resolution. Candidates must possess either a relevant IT degree combined with two years of experience or completed IT vocational training plus four years of professional experience. Essential technical requirements include strong expertise in Linux operating systems, web/application servers (Apache, Tomcat), database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL), container technologies, and version control using Git/Git-Ops, alongside foundational knowledge of ITIL processes and TCP networking principles.
