Job Summary

This Research Associate role is situated at the intersection of Digital Engineering, Computer Science, and Management, focusing on driving innovation in circular value systems and the implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP). Day-to-day, you will be responsible for conducting independent and guided research, applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to analyze circular product alternatives, and designing robust data architectures and APIs to integrate product lifecycle data from development through end-of-life. A key component of the role involves designing technological infrastructures, including Edge Computing and Cloud platforms, while ensuring strict data protection and security compliance for the trustworthy use of DPP data. The position requires an above-average Master’s degree in an engineering or computer science field, strong analytical skills, and existing knowledge in Virtual Product Engineering (VPE), MBSE, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). This three-year, full-time contract offers the opportunity to contribute cutting-edge research to national and international conferences and scientific journals, shaping the future of industrial information management processes.

Education

Above-average Master's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Mechatronics, or comparable engineering field)

Experience

  • Professional experience in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for system architecture analysis
  • Professional experience in data acquisition and sensor integration across the product lifecycle
  • Experience with version control and project management systems
  • Experience in developing and presenting scientific research results
