Job Summary

This role involves working as a Safety Specialist, advising supervisors and employees on the safe and healthy design of workplaces, technical systems, and facilities, in accordance with the German Occupational Safety Act (§ 6 Arbeitssicherheitsgesetz). The specialist will focus on preventing accidents, addressing workplace deficiencies, and conducting risk assessments and training. Key responsibilities include managing hazardous substances (handling, storage, assessment), developing safety processes, and consulting on explosion protection. Alternatively, expertise in electrical safety may be the primary focus. This position is embedded within the KIT Safety Specialist team, independently supporting research, teaching, and administration staff on Campus South. The role is attractive due to the opportunity to engage in internal and external committees and potentially complete the Safety Specialist qualification while employed, making it suitable for both qualified professionals and those seeking training.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma degree in Chemical Process Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field. Qualification as a Safety Specialist is advantageous. Doctorate is beneficial.

Experience
