Job Summary

This role involves supporting the establishment and growth of the Specialized Information Service (FID) for Molecular Chemistry at the KIT Library, working closely with the KIT Institute for Biological and Chemical Systems and the Technical Information Library (TIB). The specialist will manage needs assessments, cultivate a robust national and international network within the chemistry community, and lead public relations efforts for the new FID. A core responsibility is promoting the visibility and adoption of Open Science, Open Data, and Open Access best practices within the field of Chemistry. Day-to-day tasks include selecting and preparing specialized content for the web portal, integrating semantic and chemoinformatic methods into the service portfolio, and embedding FID services into the RDM@KIT consultation and training framework. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field, possess strong analytical skills, and have proven experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams. Success in this position requires high self-initiative and fluent proficiency in both German and English.
