Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping the future of education within the innovative, third-party funded "Lernen im Makerspace (LiMa)" project at Hochschule Düsseldorf. The Research Associate will primarily focus on managing and operating the departmental Makerspace, ensuring all equipment, safety standards, and organizational aspects are maintained. A core part of the job is consulting and supporting faculty in conceptualizing and implementing innovative, future-oriented teaching formats, as well as advising and training students on their independent projects, coursework, and theses, including instruction on safety-relevant standards. Key responsibilities include developing usage concepts, safety guidelines, and comprehensive documentation, such as creating handbooks and instructions. The successful candidate will also contribute expertise to interdisciplinary Makerspace teams to advance teaching and learning concepts related to digitalization and sustainability, and participate in transfer and networking activities through publications and conferences. This position requires a Master's degree in Electrical or Information Technology and strong technical proficiency.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's) in Electrical and Information Technology with a focus on Information Technology or equivalent specialized knowledge.

Experience

  • Initial experience in Project Management
  • Professional experience in Maker Education (advantageous)
  • Experience in didactic settings such as Higher Education for Sustainable Development (HBNE), Service Learning, and Research-based Learning (advantageous)
  • Initial experience in teaching or teaching support at a university (desirable)
  • Knowledge or experience regarding didactic approaches to promote student self-directed work (desirable)
