Job Summary

This fixed-term Research Associate position is crucial for the 'Learning in the Makerspace (LiMa)' project at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, dedicated to shaping future-oriented teaching formats and didactic concepts at the intersection of digitalization and sustainability. The core function involves providing expert advice and guidance to faculty members on the conception and implementation of innovative teaching methods within the Makerspace environment. Additionally, you will train and support students undertaking self-projects, coursework, and final theses, while ensuring strict adherence to workplace safety and operational standards. A key responsibility includes the organizational management, operation, and maintenance of the departmental Makerspace equipment. Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Electrical and Information Technology, strong technical acumen, and a willingness to contribute actively to the development of usage concepts, safety guidelines, and interdisciplinary teaching-learning concepts within an innovative academic setting.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Master's degree in Electrical and Information Technology with a focus on Information Technology or comparable expertise from an equivalent degree.

Experience

  • Initial experience in project management
  • Experience in Maker Education (Advantageous)
  • Experience in didactic settings such as Higher Education for Sustainable Development (HBNE), Service Learning, and Research-based Learning (Advantageous)
  • Initial experience in teaching or teaching support at a university (Desirable)
