Job Summary

This role involves working as a Certified Electrical Engineering Technician within the Air Quality Investigations Department at LANUK Essen, contributing to critical environmental monitoring efforts. The successful candidate will join a 10-person team focused on the testing and implementation of new measurement technologies for key atmospheric substances, including ultrafine particles, soot, CO2, and methane. Day-to-day responsibilities include independently performing complex fault analyses, conducting varied electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, and carrying out instrument calibrations. Applicants must hold a state-certified technician qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics and possess a minimum of three years of experience handling complex, automated instruments. Strong German language skills (C1 level) are mandatory. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until June 30, 2028, offering a meaningful opportunity to apply technical expertise toward climate and environmental protection goals.
