This role involves essential fieldwork focused on air quality monitoring within North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, working for the State Office for Nature, Environment, and Climate (LANUK). The Specialist will primarily be responsible for the professional collection of samples (e.g., dust, PMx, NO2) for the air quality measurement network. Key daily tasks include regular driving of a service vehicle, precise logging of sampling protocols, and performing necessary quality assurance measures. Candidates must possess a completed three-year vocational training in a relevant chemical or technical field (such as Chemical Laboratory Technician or Chemical Technician) and hold a Class B driver's license. Physical fitness is crucial for accessing measurement stations, which may involve difficult terrain or working at heights. This is a fixed-term, full-time position offering meaningful work in a public authority environment, characterized by flexible working hours and comprehensive health management programs.

Required Skills

Education

Completed three-year vocational training (BBiG) as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, Chemical Technician, Chemical-Technical Assistant, or comparable state-recognized specialization.

Experience

  • Professional experience in sample collection (Advantageous)
  • Professional experience applying chemical-physical measurement techniques (Advantageous)
  • Experience with Quality Management systems (e.g., DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025) (Advantageous)
