Job Summary

The Technical University of Freiberg is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a fixed-term, third-party funded project within the Institute of Technical Chemistry. This role involves performing essential chemical analyses using advanced instrumental techniques such as ICP-OES/MS, Ion Chromatography (IC), X-ray Fluorescence (RFA), Thermogravimetry (TG), and elemental analysis. Day-to-day tasks include conducting leaching experiments on various raw materials (e.g., ores, ashes, black mass), documenting and pre-evaluating results, and supporting student thesis work and laboratory practicals. The ideal candidate will have a well-completed education as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or equivalent, possess experience in instrumental analytics and operating lab/pilot plants, and demonstrate strong self-organization and teamwork skills. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of chemical processes focused on a sustainable future.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician (good to very good grade) or comparable degree in Chemistry, Applied Natural Science, or Chemical Engineering

Experience

  • Experience in setting up and operating laboratory and pilot plant systems
  • Experience in instrumental analytics (ICP-OES/MS, RFA, IC, TG, Elemental Analysis)
  • Professional experience in chemical processes development
