Job Summary

This role offers a working student the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in metrology research at the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB) in Braunschweig. The successful candidate will support the 'Acoustic Measurement Technology' group by setting up and configuring an airborne ultrasound source for future hearing experiments. Key tasks include the development and 3D printing of an ear canal model, integrating it into a dummy head, and conducting subsequent measurements to develop a calibration procedure for the ultrasound source. The position requires active participation in experimental lab work, data acquisition, and interpretation using high-level programming languages like Python. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Electrical Engineering or IT programs, possess practical programming experience for data handling, and ideally have knowledge of signal processing or handling audio signals. This fixed-term position provides flexible working hours tailored to academic schedules.

Required Skills

Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable field
