Job Summary

This role seeks a highly qualified Head of Electrical Systems Management to lead a team of approximately 12 professionals within the Technical University of Darmstadt’s Building Management and Technical Operations department. The successful candidate will serve as the Responsible Electrical Specialist (VEFK), overseeing the continuous operation and maintenance of critical electrical infrastructure, including 6kV/20kV primary supply, 230V/400V building installations, and essential safety systems (fire and alarm technology). Responsibilities blend operational leadership—such as staff instruction, fault resolution, and strategic input on the 2030 operating concept—with engineering duties, including planning new construction and maintenance projects, reviewing specifications, and supervising project execution. To qualify, applicants must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng. or equivalent) and demonstrate multi-year experience in both managing technical personnel and operating complex electrical systems. Fluent German (C2) is a prerequisite for this challenging, unlimited position, offering the chance to shape the development of a leading international university campus.
