Job Summary

This permanent, full-time position as an Analytical Chemistry Technician at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Garching campus, involves providing essential technical support for a globally renowned chair in Water and Analytical Chemistry. Day-to-day duties include the technical maintenance and upkeep of advanced analytical instruments, such as Gas and Liquid Chromatographs, TOC Analyzers, Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), and high-resolution Mass Spectrometers (LC-MS/ICP-MS). The successful candidate will conduct trace element analysis, perform routine measurements, and manage data archiving and documentation. A critical component of the role is analytical method development and validation, quality assurance, and the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), alongside instructing scientific staff on instrument usage. Candidates must hold a relevant technical qualification (CTA, UTA, BTA, or Lab Technician) and possess fundamental knowledge of instrumental analysis, chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
