Job Summary

This role supports a pioneering, future-oriented research project focused on improving AI-supported dose exposure calculations for clinical staff, conducted in collaboration with TU Braunschweig. The successful candidate will be based at the National Metrology Institute (PTB) in Braunschweig, contributing to the validation of simulations through experimental measurement campaigns. Key daily activities include assisting with measurements at PTB reference irradiation facilities and clinical settings (e.g., Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig), collaborating with hospital personnel, and developing test procedures for AR visualization. The role requires processing raw data, documenting results, and assisting in the development of both hardware and software components. Candidates should possess a completed vocational training as a Physics Laboratory Technician or Physical-Technical Assistant, ideally with basic programming skills in Python, C++, or Object Pascal, and the willingness to work in radiation protection areas. This three-year fixed-term contract offers the chance to combine experimental precision measurement with cutting-edge simulation technology in medical radiation protection.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Physics Laboratory Technician or Physical-Technical Assistant. State-certified Technician qualification is advantageous.

Experience

  • Experience with Raspberry Pi controlled hardware development (Ideal)
