Job Summary

This role seeks a Doctoral Researcher in Physics or Chemistry to join the Physical-Technical Federal Institute (PTB) in Braunschweig for a three-year, part-time research project (MetCTG). The core responsibilities involve conducting highly precise, high-resolution FTIR measurements using specialized equipment (Bruker IFS125-HR) for gases like CO₂, CH₄, and H₂O, and subsequently determining accurate spectral line parameters from the data. The researcher will also be responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and data analysis of a COCCON station (Bruker EM27/SUN). Successful candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field, deep expertise in molecular spectroscopy, practical experience with high-resolution spectroscopic techniques, and basic programming proficiency. This position offers a unique chance to contribute actively to the metrological foundation of precise climate measurements within a leading international research environment.
