Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated System Administrator specializing in VMware virtualization, contributing to the operation of high-performance, future-oriented e-government applications and central IT infrastructure for the Free State of Bavaria. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of virtualization infrastructures based on VMware by Broadcom, overseeing approximately 8200 virtual machines across 750 ESX Hosts. Daily duties include system conception, administration, maintenance, rigorous monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. A key component of the role involves process automation and the creation and updating of operational concepts compliant with BSI standards, alongside providing expert Second-Level Support. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field and possess multi-year professional experience in this domain.
