Job Summary

This role involves serving as a technical officer within the Coordination and Citizen Service unit of the Civil Engineering Department for the City of Hannover. The successful candidate will be the central point of contact, managing and approving traffic projects initiated by external stakeholders (third parties). Day-to-day tasks include participating in project meetings, drafting and negotiating implementation agreements, and ensuring the interests of the Civil Engineering Department are represented across various administrative, political, and public forums, including the Light Rail Construction Coordination Group. A critical component is developing city-wide positions on planning approval procedures for external traffic projects and responding to political inquiries. This position requires a degree in Civil Engineering, at least three years of relevant professional experience, and strong knowledge of public transportation regulations and political processes.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (e.g., Bachelor, Diploma (FH)), preferably in Civil Engineering, or qualification for Career Group 2, first entry level in Technical Services

Experience

  • Minimum three years of professional experience, preferably in Civil Engineering
  • Professional experience in public passenger and rail transport or experience in conducting planning approval procedures
  • Experience working with political committees and knowledge of associated legal frameworks
