Job Summary
This role seeks a highly organized and motivated Technical Assistant to join the new Muhar Lab at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the lab's research, which investigates how cells reshape their proteome during differentiation using high-throughput genetics, proteomics, and chemical-biology approaches. Daily responsibilities include active experimental work such as developing and optimizing tools for mammalian genome engineering, culturing and genetically engineering mammalian cells, and maintaining essential reagent collections and cell line stocks. Furthermore, the assistant will coordinate crucial lab organization tasks, including ordering, documentation, and equipment maintenance to ensure safety compliance and smooth operations. Essential qualifications include a research technician qualification (MTA/BTA) or a scientific university degree in a relevant field, coupled with hands-on experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory, as English is the working language of this international institute.
