Job Summary

The Pedagogical State Institute of Rhineland-Palatinate is seeking a dedicated Linux Administrator to strengthen their IT services team in Koblenz. This role involves the comprehensive administration, maintenance, and strategic development of the institute's core IT infrastructure and specialized applications, including DNS, Nextcloud, E-Mail, Webservers, and Databases. A key responsibility is managing and optimizing the Kubernetes environment. Day-to-day duties include holistic system administration such as data backup, troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability, alongside robust IT security management (Firewall, attack detection, virus/spam protection, and implementing IT baseline protection). The ideal candidate possesses excellent Linux knowledge (ideally Debian), experience with firewall/proxy servers, and a solid understanding of directory services (OpenLDAP, Active Directory).
