Job Summary

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until the end of 2027, with the potential for extension, supporting the BMEL-funded R&D project "EmiMod" within the Institute for Soil and Environment in Oldenburg. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for specialized chemical analysis, focusing primarily on odorants. Day-to-day tasks involve performing complex analytics and evaluations using Thermal Desorption-Gas Chromatograph with mass-selective and olfactometric detection (TD-GC-MS-O), and maintaining associated evaluation databases like Chromeleon and WiNose. The role also includes participating in method development for qualitative and quantitative odorant analysis, conducting olfactometer measurements, and managing sample preparation of adsorption media. Candidates must possess a completed qualification as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or equivalent, substantial practical experience with GC-MS technology, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in standard IT and laboratory software (LIMS, MS Office).
