Job Summary

This is a strategic and commercial leadership role for the Institute for Food Quality at LUFA Nord-West in Oldenburg, Germany. The Director will be responsible for the commercial and strategic management of the institute, overseeing its examination and education sectors, including the Food Law and Dairy Education Center departments. A key part of the role involves the technical and motivational leadership of approximately 100 qualified laboratory and specialist staff. Candidates must possess a degree in Food Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field, coupled with strong analytical expertise, quality assurance knowledge, and proven management and leadership experience. The position requires fluent German and English, business administration knowledge, and active participation in relevant state and federal committees to strategically advance the institute's service portfolio.

Required Skills

Education

Completed University degree in Food Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, or related fields. Doctorate (Ph.D.) is desirable.

Experience

  • Management and leadership experience
  • Professional experience in the analytical sector including quality assurance
  • Experience in the agricultural and nutrition sector (especially dairy farming) (desirable)
  • Experience in customer contact (desirable)
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information and Management System) (desirable)
