Job Summary

This strategic role as a Microsoft SQL Server Architect involves taking full responsibility for the architecture, planning, and deployment of numerous MS SQL Server instances (v2019 and higher) within a large joint data center environment. The successful candidate will define standards for database provisioning, maintenance, and high-availability solutions, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and BSI IT security standards. A key component of the job is conceptual work, including developing comprehensive security and authorization concepts, and leading complex, cross-functional IT projects. You will also automate tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting, advise internal customers on requirements, and mentor junior colleagues. This position requires a strategic mindset, structured documentation skills, and a focus on long-term planning rather than purely operational tasks, contributing directly to the secure and performant operation of critical infrastructure for the German Pension Insurance.
