Job Summary

This role as a Network Security Specialist focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT security solutions to safeguard critical systems and data. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to analyze specific security requirements, develop tailored integration strategies, and coordinate high-difficulty IT projects. Daily tasks include performing difficult analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities, implementing proactive measures, and continuously developing and documenting security concepts to ensure a consistently high level of organizational IT security. The ideal candidate holds a university degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in IT or an equivalent qualification, coupled with profound knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS, encryption, and practical experience integrating these solutions into existing infrastructures. Comprehensive knowledge of internet protocols (SSL, HTTP, SSH) and scripting (Python, Shell, Perl) is essential. This is an indefinite position offering flexible working models within a key German public service IT center, requiring excellent German and good English proficiency, and readiness for security clearance checks and on-call duty.
