Job Summary

The University of Leipzig seeks a Doctoral Research Associate to join the Institute for Meteorology, focusing on a DFG-funded project quantifying the effects of aerosols on warm clouds using a novel 'Cloud-by-Cloud' approach. This role involves performing independent research, creating scientific programming code, and processing extensive satellite observation data over a 15-year period for selected target regions. The successful candidate will systematically relate cloud-relevant aerosol concentrations at cloud height with information on developing clouds under various meteorological conditions. Key responsibilities include data analysis, interpretation, and presenting findings through publications and at scientific conferences. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Meteorology, Physics, or a related field, possess strong scientific programming skills (Matlab experience is desirable), and demonstrate excellent communication skills in English. This is a three-year, fixed-term position, offering integration into the Leipzig Graduate School for Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation.
