Job Summary

This crucial role as Specialist Coordinator for Emergency Management involves establishing, operating, and continuously developing a robust emergency management (EM) system for the Lower Saxony State Police, adhering strictly to BSI Standard 200-4. The coordinator will be instrumental in enhancing the security and resilience of the state police force. Key responsibilities include leading the Management Team for Emergency Management (MTN), coordinating statewide EM development, producing detailed status reports for senior leadership, and acting as the central representative for EM matters at the federal level. The position requires developing and implementing training concepts to improve staff readiness and planning regular, comprehensive emergency drills. Candidates must possess an IT or IT-related university degree (or equivalent professional experience) and at least three years of demanding practical IT experience, preferably in Emergency Management or Business Continuity Management. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science or related IT field, OR completed IT-related vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist, System Integration)

Experience

  • 3+ years of practical professional experience in the IT sector at a demanding level (comparable to EG 10 TV-L activities)
  • Professional experience in emergency management (NfM) is ideal
  • Practical experience in incident and emergency response is ideal
  • 2+ years of professional experience in IT (if possessing IT-related vocational training)
  • 4+ years of professional experience in IT (alternative requirement if no specific degree/training)
