Job Summary

This role involves supporting the technical and digital infrastructure of the DigiHealth and SmartTourism laboratories at the European Campus Rottal-Inn. The Laboratory Engineer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of lab IT and equipment, including procurement, administration, maintenance, and technical support for users. A key focus is the development and management of digital health and tourism prototypes, encompassing conception, implementation, integration, and system administration. Additionally, the engineer provides crucial technical assistance for teaching and research projects, helping with experimental execution, data analysis using relevant software, lecture preparation, and technology selection. This position requires a background in engineering or IT, strong organizational skills, and fluency in both English and German to thrive in an international academic environment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field. Alternatively, completed vocational training as an IT Specialist or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in system administration, network technology, and virtualization (advantageous)
  • Experience in programming, hardware development, data processing, cyber security, and cloud computing (desirable)
  • Experience in technical support for teaching and research projects

  • The position is full-time, limited to 2 years. Must be willing to work in an international team and adapt to new topics. Foreign university degrees require mandatory ZAB evaluation during the hiring process.
