Job Summary

The City of Wilhelmshaven is seeking a dedicated Soil Protection Authority Officer to join their Environmental and Climate Protection department. This role involves the enforcement of federal and state soil protection laws, including the evaluation of contaminated site and soil reports, and the initiation of detailed investigations and remediation measures. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the city's contaminated site and unexploded ordnance cadaster using GIS software, and providing expert opinions on construction applications and planning procedures. This position requires strong scientific and legal expertise in soil protection and contaminated sites, along with excellent communication and IT skills, particularly with GIS applications. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Master/Bachelor) in Natural Sciences, such as Geography, Geology, or a comparable field like Environmental Engineering

Experience

  • Professional experience in soil protection, contaminated sites, and related disciplines
  • Experience with environmental damage cases
  • Experience with EDV applications (MS-Office, ArcGIS, QGIS)
