Job Summary

The City of Wilhelmshaven is seeking a dedicated EU Affairs Officer to join its Economy and Regional Management department. In this full-time, permanent role, you will serve as a key advisor on all EU-related matters for various stakeholders, including businesses, administration, and political entities. Your daily tasks will involve researching EU funding opportunities for urban projects, drafting statements on EU policies, disseminating relevant EU news, and fostering strong networks with regional and European partners. You will also be responsible for preparing grant applications for EU co-financing and supporting the development and implementation of regional EU initiatives. This position requires strong legal application skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Required Skills

Education

Completed training as an Administrative Assistant with the 2nd Administrative Examination OR eligibility for the 1st entry-level of career group 2, general services, preferably with a focus on municipal administration. Alternative degrees: Diploma in Law, Lawyer (University), Magister Juris, Bachelor or Diploma in Business Administration with a legal focus, or Bachelor in Public Administration.

Experience

  • Experience with EU law (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the 'funding landscape' (advantageous)
  • Professional experience requiring secure legal application skills
