Biological and Medical Laboratory Technician (Dermatological Oncology) | BTA (m/w/d)

Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join the Dermatological Oncology section at the NCT Heidelberg, focusing on translational research using patient material to identify critical biomarkers related to therapy outcomes and side effects in skin cancer patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive processing of human biological samples, including the isolation of PBMCs from blood and the meticulous handling of tissue samples, including cryopreservation. Key day-to-day activities involve performing complex histological work, such as preparing paraffin sections using a microtome and conducting various immunohistochemical stainings. Furthermore, the role requires expertise in molecular biological methods, including RNA/DNA extractions followed by ddPCR, FACS analysis for immunocell populations, and establishing/maintaining cell lines for culture experiments. Applicants must have a completed BTA or equivalent qualification, detailed knowledge of these advanced lab techniques, strong organizational skills, and fluency in English to thrive in this interdisciplinary, international research environment.
