Job Summary

This permanent position seeks a Network Specialist to manage the expansion and optimization of the extensive network infrastructure supporting Stuttgart's municipal schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the project planning, design, and standardization of passive and active IT, media, and telecommunication networks across approximately 150 schools, serving nearly 74,000 students and 7,500 teachers. Day-to-day work involves ensuring a high-quality, high-performance infrastructure (currently expanding to 10/100 Gbit/s) and coordinating closely with internal city departments (Building Authority, Digitalization Office) and external service providers. Key qualifications include a university degree in Computer Science or Network Technology, or significant professional experience following an IT technical qualification. Expertise in current network technologies, including LAN, WLAN, MAN, and network management systems, is essential.
