Job Summary

The IT Officer will be a key member of the interdisciplinary TransforM Excellence Cluster at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), focusing on managing essential IT infrastructure and digital processes. Daily responsibilities include acting as the primary User Help Desk for researchers and staff, handling the procurement, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all cluster hardware, software, servers, and workstations. The role also involves critical data management and backup for non-research data, system monitoring, and ensuring media technology readiness for various events. Candidates must possess a technical Bachelor's degree, ideally in Computer Science or Information Technology, coupled with foundational knowledge of server infrastructure, operating systems, and common office applications. Expertise in Web APIs and Identity and Access Management (IAM) is required. This is a full-time, initially fixed-term position in Munich, offering high autonomy and the opportunity to contribute significantly to an ambitious, internationally recognized social science research cluster.
