Job Summary

The Aachen Police Department is seeking an IT Investigator and Case Worker to join the Cybercrime unit (Kriminalkommissariat 22). This role involves providing essential investigative support for cybercrime cases, conducting deep, cross-phenomenon research in data networks for criminal prosecution, risk prevention, and analysis. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing complex network structures and databases, processing mass data, and documenting measures in a legally admissible format for courts and prosecutors. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant Master's or equivalent degree in fields like IT Forensics or Computer Science, coupled with at least three years of practical experience in computer and internet forensics. This is a demanding, full-time, permanent position requiring high commitment, readiness for on-call duty, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical facts both verbally and in writing, often involving English-language technical literature.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent 'Diplom-Ingenieurin/Diplom-Ingenieur') in Computer Science, Communication Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or IT Forensics.

Experience
