This full-time, permanent position in Braunschweig, Germany, involves the independent management and development of critical centralized IT services for the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, a federal research body. The specialist will focus on server conception and administration, including the maintenance and advancement of the central Active Directory service, GPO management, and the operation and conceptual development of data storage and virtualization clusters. Key responsibilities include providing and operating virtual machines for scientific and central services, leading IT projects, coordinating software distribution teams, and handling 2nd-level support. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and possesses at least three years of practical experience in server administration, IT security, and structured problem-solving.
