Job Summary

This permanent, full-time IT Specialist role in Braunschweig involves crucial work supporting the Thünen Institute's IT infrastructure, focusing heavily on federal IT consolidation efforts. The specialist will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of new server services deployed on the BPBund platform, from concept creation and resource allocation to final commissioning. A major focus includes operating and migrating legacy systems to a new Intranet offering built on Microsoft SharePoint. Day-to-day tasks also encompass the technical operation of Thünen's public web offerings utilizing GSB/Typo3 and associated Linux servers. Furthermore, the role requires designing, building, and maintaining central relational databases, ensuring data accessibility through various query options and graphical user interfaces. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related MINT field and demonstrate experience in SharePoint administration, database management, and server virtualization.
