Job Summary
This role involves supporting the City of Duisburg's Office for Innovation and Central Services by coordinating the conception, operation, and further development of digitalization projects across the municipal administration. The specialist will act as a key interface, advising departments on IT deployment, optimizing processes through technology, and ensuring compliance with IT standards and guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include project management, evaluating and introducing new technologies, and participating in internal and external working groups. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure dependencies, proven experience in process analysis and design, and the ability to coordinate complex, cross-departmental IT initiatives. This position offers a stable, full-time public sector role with opportunities for flexible and mobile working.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent Diplom FH) in Computer Science OR Vocational qualification as an IT Specialist (System Integration/Application Development), Management Assistant for Digitalization Management, IT System Management Assistant, or IT Administrative Specialist
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience post-qualification (for Bachelor/Diplom FH holders in Computer Science)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience post-qualification (for vocational training holders like IT Specialist or IT Management Assistant)
- Professional experience with specialized IT procedures, interfaces, and hardware
- Practical experience in supporting and leading projects

Additional
- Must possess the civil service qualification for the first entry level of Career Group 2 of the technical administrative informatics service (Bachelor) of the state of NRW (for civil servants) OR the required educational qualifications for employees. Must be willing to work in Duisburg, Germany.
