Job Summary

The State Investigation Office (LUA) is seeking a qualified Food Chemist to join their Institute for Food Chemistry and Drug Testing in Mainz. This full-time, fixed-term role (until January 2027) involves the critical examination and legal assessment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring consumer safety and compliance. Day-to-day tasks include planning and organizing analytical and quality assurance activities, developing and validating testing methods, preparing expert reports, and potentially leading laboratory staff. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Food Chemistry and is a certified State-Certified Food Chemist. They should possess strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in instrumental analytical techniques, particularly chromatographic methods (GC, HPLC, IC). Experience

  • Experience working under Quality Management (QM) guidelines (advantageous)
  • Experience in the private sector (advantageous)
  • Experience with Sample Management Systems (LIMS) (advantageous)
