Job Summary

This role involves working as a Biological Technical Assistant or Laboratory Technician within the Microbiology/Serology department at the State Investigation Office (LUA) in Koblenz, focusing on animal health and disease control. The primary day-to-day responsibilities include the production and quality control of culture media, performing bacteriological meat inspections, and conducting microbiological tests for the detection of animal disease pathogens across various sample matrices (e.g., organs, swabs). You will also be responsible for resistance determinations. The ideal candidate holds a completed qualification as a Biological Technical Assistant or Biology Laboratory Technician and possesses knowledge of nutrient media preparation and bacteriological diagnostics. Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory and familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) are highly desirable. Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or Biology Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience working in a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory (Desirable)
  • Knowledge in the production and quality control of culture media (Desirable)
