Job Summary

This role involves performing crucial analytical work within the State Investigation Office (LUA) in Speyer, focusing on consumer and health protection by ensuring food safety. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for examining food samples for residues and contaminants using advanced chromatographic methods, including preliminary evaluation of results. Key daily tasks include operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting sophisticated analytical instruments such as HPLC and GC, and assisting in method development. The position requires strong foundational knowledge in instrumental analytics, experience working under Quality Management (QM) guidelines, and proficiency with laboratory database systems. This is a permanent, part-time position (50-95%) offering a secure workplace within the public sector, contributing directly to food safety and public health in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or Chemical Laboratory Technician (or comparable qualification).

Experience

  • Foundational knowledge and experience in instrumental analytics (especially HPLC and GC, Mass Spectrometry)
  • Experience with analytical software (e.g., MassHunter, XCalibur, Chromeleon)
  • Experience with instrumental inorganic analytics (beneficial)
  • Experience in modern sample preparation and automation (beneficial)
  • Experience working under Quality Management guidelines (beneficial)
  • Experience with sample management systems (LIMS) (beneficial)
