Job Summary

This role as a Development Engineer for Medium Voltage Switchgear involves driving the innovation and optimization of gas-insulated switchgear technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting analyses, developing design concepts, and generating automation potential for future switchgear generations. You will design components considering function, weight, installation constraints, and critical economic factors like "Design to Cost" and "Design for Manufacturing." A core part of the job is leveraging your knowledge of manufacturing technologies to refine product designs, supporting prototypes, overseeing development tests, and deriving necessary improvements. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, coupled with initial professional experience in designing mechanical components with electrotechnical functions. Proficiency in 3D-CAD and PLM systems (ideally Siemens NX/Teamcenter) is essential, along with fluent German and good English skills. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or comparable field

Experience

  • Initial professional experience designing mechanical components with electrotechnical function
  • Project experience
  • Proficient use of PLM systems and 3D-CAD (ideally Teamcenter and Siemens NX)
  • Experience in developing power distribution systems or devices (ideal)
