Job Summary

This role seeks a skilled Planning Engineer to drive the modernization and digitalization of German rail infrastructure by focusing on electrical systems. The core responsibilities involve independently planning energy supply, lighting, and grounding installations (including distribution networks and circuits) for new construction and renovation projects within the Deutsche Bahn network. The engineer will also coordinate the optimal positioning and control of field equipment for digital interlocking systems (DSTW) in collaboration with other specialized planners. Candidates must possess a technical university degree in Electrical Engineering and several years of experience planning power supply and grounding systems for railway applications, such as electronic interlocking systems (ESTW) and electric switch heating systems. Proficiency with specialized planning tools like AutoCad, Relux, Caneco Alpi, or iTWO is essential, along with fluent German communication skills. This position offers the chance to shape future rail technology through hybrid work arrangements across various German locations.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical university degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience planning power supply and grounding systems for railway crossing installations.
  • Several years of professional experience planning electronic interlocking systems (ESTW).
  • Several years of professional experience planning electric switch heating systems.
  • Professional experience developing and coordinating digital planning methods.
