Job Summary

This role is pivotal in driving the modernization and digitalization of German rail transport, focusing specifically on Rail Signaling and Safety Technology (LST). The Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and commissioning of large-scale rail infrastructure projects, acting as the primary consultant to the client and coordinating across planning and realization phases according to HOAI standards. Day-to-day tasks include independently calculating effort estimates for all planning disciplines during the bidding phase, leading and supervising internal and external planning teams, and ensuring quality, deadlines, and budget adherence. The successful candidate will also serve as a Quality Inspector (ISO 9001) and Authorized Building Submitter (BVB), coordinating complex interfaces between operators, experts, and the Federal Railway Authority to secure final execution planning approval. This position offers the chance to shape innovative digital rail safety solutions within a leading global mobility provider.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor) in Rail Signaling and Safety Technology, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field with an electrical engineering focus; 'Fachplaner LST' (Specialist Planner LST) certification from Deutsche Bahn AG

Experience

  • Long-standing professional experience as a PT1 Specialist Planner, Quality Inspector, or Authorized Building Submitter (BVB)
  • Expertise in processing and managing planning projects for rail infrastructure
  • Practical experience in the technical leadership of teams
