Job Summary

This role involves leading the on-site installation and commissioning of railway signaling and safety technology (LST) systems for long-distance rail transport across Germany. The Construction Manager is responsible for comprehensive project execution, including reviewing orders, planning personnel deployment, procuring materials and tools, and structuring work processes. A key focus is ensuring the quality of assembly execution, documenting deviations, and planning and executing testing procedures using appropriate equipment to maintain compliance with industry standards. The manager will also provide technical leadership to a small team of fitters, assign tasks based on qualifications, and ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations. This position requires extensive travel for multi-day assignments to various construction sites throughout Germany, making structured planning, strong communication, and technical expertise in automation and signaling technology essential.

Required Skills

Education

Completed electro-technical vocational training (e.g., Electronics Technician for Operational Technology or Electronics Technician for Automation Technology)

Experience

  • Many years of professional experience in the assembly and commissioning of automation systems
  • Experience in the technical leadership of employees
  • Knowledge of railway signaling technology (ideally)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • High willingness to travel for multi-day assignments to construction sites across Germany (North, South, West, and East Germany)
