Job Summary

This Research Associate role focuses on the digitalization and data-driven optimization of battery cell production within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, a leading applied research organization. The successful candidate will work within the "Digitalization of Battery Cell Manufacturing" division, concentrating on building, operating, and researching the digital infrastructure necessary for advanced battery production. Day-to-day tasks include working on data-based development and optimization of production processes, identifying potentials for data-driven use cases, and developing scalable data pre-processing pipelines from heterogeneous sources. A crucial part of the role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data ontologies for semantic modeling and improving data exchange between systems. Furthermore, the associate will analyze methods for simulation and intelligent coupling of simulation models to enable data-based decision support. The position also includes acquiring, coordinating, and managing national and international industrial and research projects, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of battery cell manufacturing in Europe.
