Job Summary

This Research Associate role focuses on establishing and researching the digital infrastructure for state-of-the-art battery cell manufacturing within the Fraunhofer FFB. The core mission involves connecting diverse data sources, such as production equipment and sensor technology, with overarching systems like IIoT platforms and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Day-to-day tasks include developing innovative infrastructure services, creating digital twins for battery cell production, and devising scientific methods to scale digitized processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for acquiring, coordinating, and managing national and international research projects. Key qualifications include a completed Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related MINT field, coupled with initial experience in machine interfaces (e.g., OPC UA, REST). Ideal candidates will also possess strong knowledge of software development concepts and message-bus systems. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to a flagship project shaping Europe's battery production future, with the potential for pursuing a PhD.
