Job Summary

This permanent, full-time or part-time position within the City of Kiel's Office for Innovation and Central Services is open for either an IT Service Manager or a Support and Problem Manager. As a Support and Problem Manager, you will be the primary contact for IT issues, handling tickets, prioritizing tasks, and providing first-level support via helpdesk or hotline. A core responsibility involves conducting Problem Management to ensure sustainable resolution of IT system disturbances and maintaining the central IT knowledge base. As an IT Service Manager, you will focus on strategic process development, service portfolio design, managing the IT Service Management (ITSM) system and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and developing self-services and digital workflows. Candidates must possess a university degree (e.g., Computer Science, IT) or a relevant minimum three-year vocational IT qualification, coupled with at least three years of professional experience, including a minimum of two years in first-level support or IT client administration.

Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma, min. 6 semesters) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Information/Communication Technology, or Electrical Engineering; OR completed minimum three-year vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration, IT System Salesperson, IT System Electronics Technician, State-certified Technician)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience following required education or vocational training
  • Minimum 2 years in First-Level Support/Hotline, IT Client Administration, or IT Service Management
