Job Summary

The Urban Data Coordination Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping the digital transformation of Aachen by developing and continuously refining the city's urban data management strategy. Daily responsibilities include identifying data potential for critical planning processes (e.g., spatial, climate, social planning), preparing, integrating, and visualizing data within the Urban Data Platform (UDP), and utilizing data analytics to support sustainable city development, particularly concerning climate protection and adaptation. The role requires a scientific university degree (Master or Diploma) in fields like Geodesy, Geoinformatics, or Computer Science, coupled with several years of professional experience in data and project management. Success in this position demands familiarity with Smart-City technologies, digital twins, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively across administration, politics, and external partners. The position offers a secure, permanent, full-time contract, flexible working models, and the opportunity to actively lead interdisciplinary projects focused on modern urban development.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master or Diploma) in Geodesy, Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, or a comparable relevant field.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in data management

  • Familiarity with current technical developments in urban data, geodata processing, Smart-City, and digital twins
  • Experience in committee work, workshops, and public events
