Job Summary

This role involves becoming a Clinical Application Consultant providing scientific training and support for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications, specifically focusing on oncology. The consultant will ensure the flawless operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific/Ion Torrent NGS products within clinical customer sites. Key daily activities include leading the implementation of assays and clinical solutions, delivering scientific application support and training, and resolving complex customer issues through in-depth troubleshooting. The position requires a strong background in Molecular Biology or related life sciences, hands-on experience with NGS technology (including data analysis), and excellent communication skills to support customers with varying technical expertise. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a commercial attitude who is willing to travel frequently (40%) across Germany and occasionally internationally to support sales targets and nurture key customer relationships.

Required Skills

Education

MSc and/or PhD preferred (or equivalent experience) in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or Life Sciences.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology (including data analysis)
  • Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form
  • Professional background in a support/training-related role (preferred)
  • Prior experience interacting with customers (preferred)
