Job Summary

This role involves providing specialized mechanical engineering expertise for offshore wind energy projects, focusing on the integration of gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear (GIS) onto offshore platforms. The engineer will be responsible for defining support concepts, calculating foundation loads, and evaluating resulting movements (DOF) on the switchgear under various load cases. A key function is the independent execution of complex mechanical calculations, including fatigue load analysis for floating platforms and earthquake resistance proofs for high-voltage equipment. The ideal candidate brings several years of experience in static and dynamic strength calculation using FEM (ideally ANSYS) and possesses long-standing knowledge of Siemens Energy GIS systems. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, a systematic approach, and fluency in both German and English to effectively advise customers and collaborate with external engineering partners, contributing directly to the safe generation of renewable energy.
