Job Summary

The successful candidate will join the Swiss Center for Drones and Robotics (CSDR) within the DDPS (Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport) for a 12-month traineeship. The primary focus of the role is supporting the Technology and Market Monitoring (TMM) domain and contributing to social science research related to robotics. Day-to-day tasks include supporting R&D projects focusing on the ethical, political, and legal implications of robotics, developing and optimizing the CSDR's TMM approach using innovative solutions and automation, and producing monitoring reports, presentations, and briefings for various stakeholders. The role also involves significant communication duties, such as writing articles for internal and specialized publications, and assisting with national and international collaboration efforts with academic and industry partners. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or student interested in the critical interface between security policy and emerging technology, offering high conceptual, analytical, and writing engagement within a vital federal organization.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree (or recent completion within 12 months of start date) in Political Science, Public Management, Communication, International Relations, Ethics, or Economics.

Experience

  • Professional experience supporting research and innovation projects in social sciences (ethics, politics, law) related to robotics.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing processes (e.g., TMM approach) using automation and recent technologies.
  • Professional experience in national and international collaboration with academic and industry partners.
  • Knowledge of technology and market monitoring domains is desired.

Additional
