Job Summary

This role is ideal for a proactive Financial Accountant or Tax Specialist eager to step into a digitally-driven environment focusing on complex Indirect Tax (VAT/Sales Tax) topics within BASF's Global Business Services unit in Berlin. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, advance VAT declarations, recapitulative statements, and Intrastat declarations, ensuring proper accounting representation. A key focus will be on the continuous optimization and automation of technical applications, such as Tax Compliance Management systems, requiring a strong understanding of automated processes and relevant software. This is a crucial interface role, demanding direct collaboration with VAT experts, adjacent finance departments across the BASF Group, and IT teams. Candidates should possess a background in economics/finance with a tax focus or equivalent qualification, coupled with strong communication skills in both German and English.
