Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) involves high-impact research focused on the molecular and evolutionary mechanisms of brain aging, primarily using the turquoise killifish model. The successful candidate will perform extensive bioinformatic analyses using existing and newly generated genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets, specifically applying tools like R (including R/qtl) and AI-based methods such as AlphaFold to generate and test biological hypotheses. Day-to-day tasks include computational work, assisting with next-generation sequencing and proteomic data creation, contributing significantly to manuscript preparation, grant applications, and mentoring junior staff. The role requires a PhD in biology, computer science, or a related field, coupled with proven expertise in bioinformatics, neuroscience, and/or genomics.
